MUUK Architecture has completed a private residential project in the Magog region of Quebec. The development is conceived as a modern interpretation of a traditional farmstead.
MUUK Architecture organizes the approximately 4,000-square-foot dwelling into three separate structures linked by curved connecting corridors. This design approach creates a layout reminiscent of a small hamlet. Externally, the residence utilizes materials such as cedar and gray steel to help it blend with the rural landscape.
MUUK Architecture's arrangement of the buildings forms a sheltered interior courtyard, which contains a swimming pool, terraces, and an outdoor fireplace. Inside the private residential project, the architectural focus is on exposed timber framework, cedar ceilings, and stone surfaces. A lower-level space with large retractable windows opens directly to the pool area.
