Autonomous Drone PPE Deliveries

Zipline is Delivering Equipment for Us Healthcare Professionals

Zipline, the California based robots company, announced that it will be completing PPE deliveries to healthcare workers in the United States. The PPE deliveries will be completed by drones through a partnership with Novant Health. The drones will fly for 32 miles to fulfillment locations located in North Carolina.
Novant Health also stated intentions to expand within the North Carolina, South Florida, and Virginia regions.

The Federal Aviation Association approved the project through a waiver, which allows the company to work around regulations on unmanned aircraft. Approval will last until late October, or until COVID-19 travel restrictions change. The Federal Aviation Association also states that the project will make the first long-range autonomous delivery service in the United States.
