Instagram's New Poll Sticker Lets Users Take Impromptu Votes

In order to make its Stories feature as engaging as possible, Instagram has introduced a new feature through which users can insert poll stickers into their Stories to take impromptu straw polls from their bank of followers. The stickers get placed on top of the images in one's Story, as with all other stickers, but these new stickers have added functionality: they can be tapped to participate in a binary vote.

The added engagement with the poll stickers not only makes Instagram Stories more dynamic, but it increases the odds of Likes for posts. Users can also look through the data to see which of their followers voted for which option, helping users to sort through and seek out their most trusted friends' opinions.
