Tel Aviv-based design firm PointGrab has been known to produce interactive and innovative system designs that center on motion and gesture control and have recently created PointSwitch, a product that is oriented more towards home appliance activation. The project called PointSwitch allows the user to pull down the shades, adjust the air conditioning temperature and even dim the lights simply by pointing your finger at home appliances. The system allows you the freedom to sit on your couch and control your living space only by using hand gestures.
The innovative system is a solution for the home environment and can even work in darkness or when you're standing in the nooks and corners of the room. According to tech designers at PointGrab, they use "depth information to create a 'transparent space' in front of the user, enabling a 'touch-like' operation of devices, but from a distance."
