Curvacious Plywood Chairs

These Sleek Chairs are Made from Only Two Sections of Curved Wood

Designer Kaptura de Aer has created this beautiful plywood chair collection called Counterpoise. The elegant chairs are simple and beautifully made from just two pieces of wood.

The unique structure of this chair has two front legs that are elongated from the floor to curve around and double as the backrest for the plywood chair. The actual seat portion flows from the front of the chair downward to meet the floor from beneath the backrest. This structural format allows the chair to sit on just three legs.

The two parts of this chair balance as one and are held together with two simple metal elbows. The 'L' shaped elbows are bright yellow to add a sense of play to the sleek seat. This chair is perfect for any living space with its neutral color palette and provides extreme comfort with the perfectly curved wood.
