One-Legged Structural Wooden Chairs

Dimitrih Correa Designs the Pere Chair with a Wooden Build

Dimitrih Correa designed the Pere chair, which is more than a classical wooden chair as it rests on top of a single leg. The design is inspired by Brazilian folklore and backed by indigenous materials. It has a modular build which adds a playful twist to a living space whilst sharing the stories of its own heritage with the unique marks seen on the wood indicating its past lifetimes.

The front boasts the singular leg as it spans across the entire width and it uses a cantilever system which is integrated in strong construction projects including bridges and towers. Notably, the Pere chair has a backrest that can be removed and transformed into a stool.
