The Plus Pool Project Received Unexpected Support from Heineken

The Plus Pool project started as a simple idea that aimed to alter how New Yorkers viewed its rivers and has since grown into a conceptual design, which features a lavish plus-shaped pool with an embedded filtration system.

The idea was simple: instead of ambitiously attempting to clean the entire river, why not start with cleaning just a small portion of it? The result was +POOL and after receiving generous crowdfunded donations and a partnership with beer-mogul Heineken, the dream is beginning to become a reality. The floating pool is set to be situated in the inner harbor of the NYC waterfront, and will have a filtration system integrated in its walls, providing clean water, while serving as an example of an immersive, city-wide environmental initiative.

Heineken promises to donate $100,000 to the project if +POOL can get 100,000 signatures from New Yorkers claiming they'll use the plus-shaped pool.
