Sunfed Meats' "Chicken-Free Chicken" is Made with a Plant Protein Source

Sunfed Meats is on a mission to "redefine what meat means to us" by making products like its "chicken-free chicken" entirely from plant protein sources. In the process of doing so, the company also has goals to contribute to the slowing of global warning, restore animal welfare and improve the health of humans as well.

Sunfed Meats identified that many companies that are currently creating plant-based meat substitutes are focusing on making red meat alternatives. To set itself apart from the pack, the company set out to create a replacement for most consumed meat in the Western world—chicken.

The company's plant protein "meat' is made with water, pea protein, vegetable powder, plant starch and natural yeast extract. It also happens to boast a greater amount of protein, iron and zinc in comparison to real chicken as well.
