Time Inc. will soon be launching PetHero, a $20 subscription program that connects pet owners to toys, treats and other products, plus 25% discounts on veterinary services. With PetHero, members will also be able to access tips and advice from vets to improve their pet care regimens.
This new service-focused venture from Time Inc. is set to be a new business opportunity that leverages collected consumer data. Consumer data is also set to play an important part of target advertising; as Digiday describes: "the same people who would be targeted for PetHero could also be available to marketers like pet product brand Purina to target."
While there are many pet-focused subscription services on the market that emphasize the sharing of products, PetHero will stand apart for its service-focused offerings.
