Curated Social Media Algorithms

Twitter's New Algorithm Delivers a Personalized User Experience

In an effort to create a more targeted and personalized user experience, Twitter has launched a new algorithm that aims to curate content to users that's more in line with what they like.

This new update features two main elements. The first is the news element, which involves Twitter's employees hand-selecting the most relevant news stories, while an algorithm decides which of the stories is most important for consumers to read. The second element features an updated Explore tab. Through this tab users are able to track breaking stories.

The content that makes it to the top of a user's feed will be determined through the logarithm, which sorts information using one's previously searched keywords and likes.
