Peridot bar by Studio Paolo Ferrari is a cocktail space located on the 38th floor of The Henderson tower in Hong Kong, designed as an enclosed, immersive interior. The project uses a continuous plywood shell coated in coloured plaster, allowing walls and ceilings to merge into a single curved surface. This cocoon-like structure removes conventional boundaries, creating a unified spatial field shaped by soft geometry and controlled enclosure. The layout is divided into two zones, with a main lounge and a secondary space positioned around a central bar.
A matrix of approximately 20,000 LED light points is embedded across the surface using frosted acrylic cylinders capped in steel, producing a diffused glow that shifts throughout the day. Materials include green marble at the bar, polished stainless steel, and mohair seating, all aligned with a green-toned palette inspired by the peridot gemstone.

Trend Themes
1. Continuous Plaster Shell Interiors - The seamless plywood-and-plaster shell that collapses walls and ceilings into a single curving surface suggests new possibilities for prefabricated, monolithic interior systems that redefine spatial boundaries.
2. Embedded LED Matrix Surfaces - A grid of 20,000 frosted-acrylic-lit points integrated into structure surfaces indicates potential for surfaces that dynamically convey atmosphere, information, and branding through spatially programmable light.
3. Gemstone-toned Material Palettes - A coordinated green-peridot palette combining marble, stainless steel, and mohair points to material strategies that fuse color psychology and tactile luxury for immersive brand identity.
Industry Implications
1. Hospitality Design - Boutique bars and high-end restaurants can be reimagined as fully immersive sculptural environments where architecture and lighting jointly shape guest experience.
2. Architectural Materials Manufacturing - Producers of engineered plywood, plaster composites, and molded acoustic substrates may innovate toward modular curved panels that speed installation of continuous interior shells.
3. Lighting Technology - Developers of LED systems and frosted-acrylic diffusers could advance integrated, low-profile lighting matrices that embed within finishes for responsive environmental control.
