The Human Parking Aid is part of a video billboard, designed by the Leo Burnett marketing agency, that shows off the Fiat 500's parking sensor technology. This billboard is used to gauge a car's location in relation to other parked vehicles. An on-screen 'helper' helps the driver maneuver their car.
The billboard utilized the same ultrasonic technology used in the Fiat 500's actual parking assist system. Using specially developed software, the distance between the car being parked and adjacent cars was displayed by on-screen helpers on the video billboard.
The helpers were previously filmed holding their hands apart and slowly bringing them together. This footage was then used to help drivers park their car appropriately.
