British politicians are celebrating Pancake Tuesday 2016 by flipping flapjacks for charity. While most people celebrate Pancake Tuesday by stuffing their face with as many pancakes as possible, these British MPs are using the occasion to raise money for a good cause.
The 'Parliamentary Pancake Race' is an annual fundraiser that takes place in Victoria Tower Gardens outside London's Houses of Parliament. The race consists of MPs, Lords and members of the press competing in a charitable pancake relay. Participants must dress in aprons and hats as they make their way through the course and they must be flipping their pancakes continuously throughout. In the end, all of the money raised from the race goes to support the charity Rehab, which helps those with mental and physical disabilities.
For those living in London, watching MPs propel pancake batter into the air could be a great way to celebrate Pancake Tuesday 2016.
