We’ve seen the beat pads before (4 x 4 pads full of multiple sounds), but the Otto beatslicer is a completely different element of music production. The surface of the device is a full touch interface.
Otto plugs into any computer and music files can be drag and dropped into the Otto program. The machine will then create a chromatic reading of the song on the circular plane of the device. Simply by touching different parts of the pad, the beat can be looped at any section or wound back (like record scratching).
Otto is a revolutionary machine in the world of open-source beat making and should be a hit among music experimentalists.
