Oppressed Majority by Eleonore Pourriat Explores an Alternate Reality

Oppressed Majority is a French short film that has recently gone viral. A clever concept, the plot revolves around gender role reversals. It essentially explores an alternate reality in which men are the caregivers and women are the breadwinners. Of course, Oppressed Majority goes beyond those cliches to delve into everyday differences between the sexes.

Directed by Eleonore Pourriat, the Oppressed Majority short film takes the viewer to Paris, France, where they are invited to follow a man around his normal day. At first a person may classify him as a house-husband, but it soon becomes clear that there is more going on. It's Nice That writes, "We watch him deal with prejudice, be sexually abused verbally and physically, and struggle in a relationship which he has little to no control over."
