This unusual onion rings recipe involves breading the deep fried snack in Kool-Aid. From the ever inventive Nick Chipman of DudeFoods, the Kool-Aid Breaded Onion Rings were made using a SodaStream Play.
This onion rings recipe uses Tropical Punch Kool-Aid mix, but you could use any flavor you like. For a rainbow display, you could even try multiple flavors, although that could be potentially time consuming. Simply mix the drink with flour to make batter. While regular Kool-Aid can be made with water, Chipman used the carbonated SodaStream variety. Either works, but Chipman claims the carbonation makes the onion rings taste lighter and tastier. You'll likely have to try it both ways to taste test!
