This Japanese Onigiri Rice Ball Contains the Contents of a Burger

— July 28, 2014 — Lifestyle
Just as there's sushi pizza that mixes eastern and western cuisine, Japan now has an onigiri rice ball that's filled with things that you would find on a cheeseburger. From the outside, the Bakudan Musubi Bacon Cheese Hamburg looks pretty much identical to any other rice ball wrapped in a sheet of nori, but the real surprise comes when you go to take a bite, since the rice ball's filling includes pepper mayo, cheese, hamburger meat, bacon and a sunny-side-up egg.

The snack is available from Japanese convenience stores and although these kinds of onigiri snacks can usually be consumed right after grabbing them off of a shelf, this particular cheeseburger onigiri can be microwaved and enjoyed warm, just like a real burger that's had its buns replaced with rice.
