On-Site Solar Battery Systems

Costco & Trinity Energy to Launch Its On-Site Energy System

Costco Wholesale partnered with Trinity Energy to deploy a fully integrated on-site energy system at its Port St. Lucie, Florida distribution center. The installation combines solar generation and battery storage to support mission-critical loads, including data centers and other equipment that cannot tolerate outages.

The system is designed to provide 24/7 energy reliability while reducing dependence on traditional utility-based backup power. Trinity Energy’s platform also collects operational data to identify usage patterns and support additional energy savings through change management. Costco said the project will help reduce strain on the local grid during periods of peak demand while supporting continued growth at the facility.

For operators, the deployment demonstrates how large commercial sites can use integrated solar and storage to improve resilience, strengthen energy independence and reduce pressure on surrounding utility infrastructure.
