Turning people's everyday commute into an art gallery experience, the OMG, Who Stole My Ads public art installation replaces traditional billboard content with classic oil paintings. By doing so, it encourages people to appreciate culture while dwelling on the consequence of seeing so many mundane and consumer-driven ads surrounding them on a daily basis. Not everyone is as lucky as the residents in Sao Paolo, where outdoor advertisement has been deterred.
Created by Etienne Lavie, the OMG, Who Stole My Ads art installation takes place around Paris, France. Transforming the city of lights into an outdoor gallery, the series is eye-opening, heart-warming and soul-searching. It is interesting to see how many people stop to admire the works of art versus those who pass them by blindly.
