It turns out that there's still life and purpose left in those old phone booths that litter the sidewalks of many cities.
A Hungarian concept to make old phone booths relevant again has been a resounding success thus far. Instead of making a call on your cell phone, this campaign suggests making a call using one of the charity booths instead; identifiable by the pink paint job and heart-shaped logo on the side. When users place a call using their change in the charity booths, the proceeds will go to a non-governmental charitable organization. Thus far, the campaign has brought indispensable revenue to charities for the blind in Hungary.
So not only will you be helping a charity out when you call up your friends or family, but you'll also be saving your battery and maybe even some cash on your cell phone bill. Who knew an old phone booth could do so much good.
