The Washed Ashore Project Transforms Ocean Garbage into Art

Sadly the rate ocean garbage is growing as plastic bottles, containers and other bits of unwanted waste continue to plague the world bodies of water. Thankfully an organization called the Washed Ashore Project has band together to make use of the garbage and transform it into sea creature sculptures that help raise awareness about the danger of littering.

The Washed Ashore Project offers a unique take on bringing awareness to its cause by transforming the negative into a positive. The organization relies on members of the community that band together to help clean up beaches. The garbage collected is used to create these massive sculptures of sharks, penguins, turtles and squids featuring items such as aluminum, ropes and plastic bags.
