The DoorDash App Now Includes Objective Restaurant Ratings

Popular food delivery app DoorDash is slowly encroaching on Yelp's territory with the addition of objective restaurant ratings. While there are many food delivery apps in operation, DoorDash's latest features allow for a whole new level of user feedback.
As part of its latest app update, DoorDash will now include objective restaurant ratings. This consists of 'Delight scores,' which are determined based on the restaurant popularity, customer feedback and other data points. The Delight scores are designed to serve the same purpose as Yelp ratings, in that users can examine the scores of each restaurant to decide between different spots. However, DoorDash believes its rating system is actually superior to Yelp because it is more objective and not based on unpredictable factors such as the diner's mood or a waiter's attitude. The DoorDash reviews are also more accurate in that they are linked to real accounts, as opposed to Yelp reviews, which can be written by users who may have never even visited the restaurant they're reviewing.
