Modern Alpine Spa Designs

Auer Weber Architects Designs the Oberstdorf Thermal Spa

The Oberstdorf Thermal Spa, designed by Auer Weber Architects in the Allgäu region, is a new wellness and health centre that blends sensitively into the Alpine landscape through clearly structured forms, pitched roofs, and a vertically structured timber façade.

Key design differentiators of the Oberstdorf Thermal Spa are the ceramic tiles and bathroom ceramics from Agrob Buchtal, which ensure functional quality, design clarity, and long-term reliability in the demanding environment of the spa's swimming pool facility.

Auer Weber Architects conceived the architecture as an ensemble of staggered volumes with sloping roofs that draw on regional building traditions and translated them into contemporary language, with generous glazing opening the bathing hall to impressive views of the surrounding mountains.
