Nine United launches its new furniture brand NINE and it shines a spotlight on up-and-coming talents mainly made up of male designers. NINE aims to highlight contemporary furniture that is made by emerging talent, unveiling its inaugural capsule during 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen. It features nine designers' and studios' work including Julien Renault, Daniel Schofield, and Matteo Fogale to name a few.
It's important to note that the current gender balance is not true to the pool of designers that the company is working with, CEO of Nine United Europe, Katherine Hoeger explains. "We have work by some super talented female designers in the pipeline, but we had a limitation about what we could show in terms of what was ready."
