Film-Inspired Animations

See New York City Animation Like Never Before

We've seen it thousands of times in the movies, but Brooklyn's Bottleneck gallery is presenting some of the most iconic shots from New York-themed movies with these New York City animations.

Created by artist Chris Thornley, who also goes by the name Raid71, these animations pay homage to NYC classic film features like King Kong, Gangs of New York, Ghost Busters and even The Warriors. Rightfully so, this installation is titled 'The Popular Face of New York.'

One of the most exciting things about Thornley's works is that each of his posters not only pay tribute to the sheer cinematic finesse of these world-renowned films, but also to those who created them. Jumping between eras and movie genres, you'll need to do your best to not to get lost in these memorable movie re-imaginings.
