The XFL recently announced the new league rules that will be in place for the 2020 season, which is scheduled to begin on February 8th. The league was launched to serve as an alternative to the NFL, and 24 rule changes were made in an attempt to improve the viewing experience for audiences. The new league rules include changes to kickoffs, punts, game clock, as well as the reply process.
Oliver Luck, The XFL commissioner, spoke about the new rule set, “All of these rules are grounded in the rationale of what we want our league to be like, not changing something for the sake of changing it.”
The new rules are intended to improve the product on the field and captivate viewers. If successful, the XFL could provide legitimate competition to the NFL and become a popular league.
