New Affiliates Designed a Series of Structured Garden Gnomes

New Affiliates is a design studio based in New York and its latest series is comprised of powder-coated steel garden gnomes created for minimalists. The designs are the perfect decorative pieces for any domestic setting or garden -- although they don't look like the traditional gnomes, they still beautifully elevate a space. The design process drew in cues from traditional gnomes including their coned hats that have been abstracted to simplistic geometrical shapes cut from steel. Although different in design, the figures are still playful and lighthearted like the traditional forms.
Designers ensured that the structures didn't sway too far from familiarity. Each garden gnome is constructed from dual flat steel planes that are slipped in together to form the foundation and can be flat-packed as well. The colorways available include pink, yellow, blue or white and comes in three different shapes -- 'Gnome Without Hat,' 'Gnome With Hole' and 'Gnome Sleeping.'
