Amateur mountaineers can now see for themselves what the summit of Mount Everest looks like thanks to the Mount Everest webcam. The Mount Everest webcam is mounted at an amazing 18,514 ft. and gives a clear view of the west side of Mount Everest which stands an imposing 29,029 ft.
The Mount Everest webcam can only be viewed during the daytime hours in Nepal. The webcam takes one image every five minutes and is used to track the movement of clouds around the top of the mountain. The webcam was installed by German company Mobotix. The data gathered from the Mount Everest webcam will be used in conjunction with other sources to help scientists more accurately record global climate change.
