Mooncake by +tongtong is a table unlike any other. That may sound like a hyperbolic statement, but it's not. Mooncake is essentially a hybrid table and serving dish. The tabletop is made of serving trays which can be removed and re-slotted. There are three different trays that make up the table, with each one designed to serve a different course.
John Tong, the founder of +tongtong, imagines Mooncake being used at both restaurants and in homes. Integrating the serving tray into a tabletop would certainly save time when it comes to busing and table and serving food. However, some folks may be turned off by the lack of usable space. You can't exactly stack dishes out of the way when your entire tabletop is one dish.
