Modular Arboreal Benches

Busk + Hertzog's Design for 'Runway' is a Modular Seating System

'Runway' is a modular seating system designed for Hightower by Busk + Hertzog that's far more interesting than the average seating unit. Rather than using a series of regular shapes, this design is organic and branch-like, making it possible for the benches to "grow" in different directions. The elongated seating pieces have one flat side and one with a rounded taper, so that they can be butted up against each other or angled to form unusual patterns.

As well as being just purely aesthetically pleasing, the angled ends of the seats provide an addition function—they make it easy to get up from the seats, since they are more ergonomic and ensure your feet have more space to support you as you get up.
