Nature-Inspired Structured Seating

Alexander Lotersztain Designs the Twig Seating for Derlot

Alexander Lotersztain designs the Twig seating for Derlot, which is a modular seating solution that is functioning in both indoor and outdoor spaces. The unique structure boasts a biophilic theme that is inspired by nature, resulting in minimal design language. It was originally designed back in 2008 with the influence of a bough of trees but has since grown to a much more innovative form.

The seating has a geometric form that demands attention and the units come together to create a collective branching pattern. The standard version of the Twig is made for the outdoors constructed from low-density polyethylene and can be illuminated from the inside. The indoor iteration has the option to be upholstered in fabric or leather.
