Macy's Mobile Checkout Lets Clothing Shoppers Skip the Line

Mobile checkout is now becoming quite common across the grocery stores around the world, but fashion retail shops have been slow to adopt the same kind of systems since their success heavily relies on improved loss prevention. Macy's is now setting itself apart by introducing its own mobile checkout tool for consumers, who will be able to follow a simple three-step system to make a purchase in select stores.

Those who wish to bypass the line may now use the Macy's app to scan the barcode of a desired piece of apparel or a home good product. From there, customers are able to complete the purchase with an added credit card on their Macy's account. The final step in competing the process is to visit the in-store mobile checkout counter, so that security tags can be removed and shopping bags may be received.
