To continue to the success of SmartShop, Sainsbury's is introducing Sainsbury's SmartShop Pick and Go, a contactless and checkout-free shopping service. The experience starts by having customers scan a QR code from their SmartShop app, which will automatically charge items to their linked credit or debit card as they take items off of shelves. If items are placed back onto shelves, those charges are removed, and customers are charged the appropriate amount as they leave the store.
