Vietnam's Mekong delta is home to a distinctive traditional architecture thanks to the extreme climate in the region, and MM Architects looked to channel those architectural gestures with a pair of holiday homes built in the region. The twin abodes are clad in natural materials that bring them into harmony with both the built and the natural environment, including bamboo coverings over the sides of the houses and dried leaf roofs.
MM Architects built two twin homes for this project for another traditional reason. The homes are owned by a Vietnamese family that spans three generations, and the different lifestyles between these generations necessitate the creation of different living spaces. Nonetheless, there is a central courtyard with a swimming pool and deck where the whole family can gather.
