The 'Mine Kafon Drone' Can Detect and Detonate Mines Safetly

Mine Kafon Drone (MKD) is capable of detecting and detonating land mines all while ensuring human safety. MKD is an innovative landmine removal system that has the potential to safety remove all land mines within the next 10 years.

The drone works by mapping an area then uses a metal detector to detect any mines which are flagged with GPS markers. The drone then returns to the operator to have the metal detector switched to a robotic arm that drops small detonators over the mines' locations and retreats to safety prior to detonation. The designers of MKD still want to improve the GPS tagging system for more precise location tags and work on being able to detect mines that have been buried for decades.

With a potential 100 million land mines around the world, the Mine Kafon Drone has the potential to save many lives. This is a cheaper, safer and more efficient way to remove land mines.
