An Israeli company by the name of Indoor Robotics has developed a high-tech security drone that is designed to safely patrol indoor spaces.
Whereas security drones have become more and more common in outdoor industrial and other high-security settings, they are yet to become a common sight in indoor environments because of the challenges of making GPS work indoors.
This is where the Tando quadcopter comes in. This drone uses thermal and optical imaging cameras to study its environment, before using artificial intelligence to navigate its surroundings. It is also capable of autonomously stowing on its compatible tile-shaped dock for easy storage. The drone is also devoid of external blades that could pose a injury hazard.
With its autonomous functioning and high-tech navigation and patrolling capabilities, this security drone is a viable alternative to wheel-bound drones and other bulkier security systems.
