Mindful Study Spaces

Chaoffice Embraces Zen-Inspired Design Sensibilities in House Under the Boat

Beijing-based architectural firm Chaoffice recently completed the House Under The Boat Project, effortlessly fusing a mindful study space with contemporary living quarters. Located near Beijing's Chaobai River wetlands, the aesthetic and construction of the dwelling are able to evoke a sense of calm and tranquility as the architects drew inspiration from monasteries and ancient temples. This reflects the client's interests and travels.

The mindful study space is integrated seamlessly into the House Under The Boat as bookshelves and desks appear throughout the house. The strategic placement of these elements in every corner facilitates a seamless transition between living and working spaces. Additionally, the incorporation of glass ceilings and extensive windows ensures a well-lit interior which is known to benefit work and study.
