This matcha affogato has a vibrant green hue perfect for St Patrick's Day or other themed parties. Created by Alanna Taylor-Tobin, the Matcha Ginger Affogato recipe is a more health conscious version of an Italian, traditionally espresso-based dessert.
Made with highly caffeinated matcha green tea powder as well as powdered ginger, hot water and vanilla ice cream, the treat consists of pouring a ginger-incorporated hot tea over ice cream (not unlike a float beverage). You can use regular vanilla or opt for a dairy-free alternative should you attempt to recreate this matcha affogato at home.
