In order to inspire fans of classic Nintendo video games to try out the latest advancements in gaming technology, the VR Zone in Shinjuku, Japan, gave some of its visitors the chance to play Mario Kart VR using the HTC Vive.
To make the experience seem that much more real, players were seated in moving chairs that featured all the controls they needed on the arms. In addition, the players boosted their adrenaline by pedaling while they raced within the game -- making for a high energy experience that brought out each participant's competitive nature.
As the VR Zone's creation of Mario Kart VR shows, even classic video games can evolve into something entirely different with the implementation of new technology that increases engagement among players by making their experiences much more immersive.
