To celebrate National Margarita Day on February 22nd, the Portland-based pastry shop Voodoo Doughnuts has teamed up with the tequila brand Jose Cuervo to create some boozy batches of margarita donuts.
To create the boozy new margarita donuts, Voodoo Doughnuts enlisted the help of Jose Cuervo. The result of the partnership is two types of booze-infused donuts, one of which is a super-sized cake donut hand-frosted with a tequila glaze and the words 'Cuervo' written across the top. The other is a smaller, jelly-filled donut made with Cuervo-infused lemon jelly, vanilla frosting, tart lime dust, and white sprinkles.
Despite the boozy ingredients, most of the alcohol is cooked out by the time the donuts reach store shelves. As a result, these treats offer a fun way to enjoy National Margarita Day, without the risk of a hangover.
