Entitled "Atmospheric Reentry", this collection of avant-garde accessories comes from the mind of visionary milliner Maiko Takeda. The emerging Japanese hat-maker and accessory designer pushes visual boundaries with his sculptural creations that are constructed out of thousands of sharp needle forms.
Presented at Royal College, the "Atmospheric Reentry" collection by Maiko Takedais explores new and innovative design practices. Takedais aims to create accessories that act as wearable art pieces and achieves his vision with headpieces, neckwear elements and hooded garments all infused with piercing colored needles.
Moreover, this collection pays homage to the beauty of our natural world. Whether evoking the coat of a porcupine, the flowing stream of a river or the luminescent feathers of a peacock, Takedais never fails to pave the way for never-before-seen design concepts and construction methods.
