A small island outside of Hong Kong called Macau is quickly becoming the number one gaming resort area in the world. With revenues already surpassing Las Vegas, Macau is definitely destined to becoming Asia's Las Vegas. It's so hot that many of the Las Vegas hotels are opening in Macau and introducing Western-style gaming.
Implications - The consumer urge to escape has and will continue to persist; however, avid vacationers are sure to seek new attractions and places of interest to visit in order to enjoy a true, eye-opening experience. Thus, regions such as Macau are using their spaces to build tourist attractions that are exotic, yet familiar and friendly.
