Chalet-Like Abodes

The House in Genolier by LRS Architects Looks Like a Lodge

With a location so close to the Swiss alps, it's no surprise that the owners were looking to build a chalet-like abode with the help of LRS Architects. The design resembles a lodge one would find on a ski hill, except here the house is used for a smaller family who loves to escape to the mountains.

The house works well with its surroundings, and the structure is actually sunken slightly into the ground so that the landscape becomes one with the building. The roof takes on a similar sloping aesthetic that can be seen in the mountains, which are seen from the back porch area. Large windows make up the side of the back of the house, providing an amazing view of the surrounding Swiss alps and gorgeous landscape.
