Sunlit Subterranean Parks (UPDATE)

New York's Lowline Lab Will be a Prototype of the Real Lowline

Back in 2012, The Lowline was announce. The subterranean park to be located in an early 1900s underground trolley terminal in New York City’s Lower East Side neighborhood received crowdfunding in 2014 to build a prototype. A year later and now the team is raising funds again to build the Lowline Lab, an even bigger prototype that will be open to the public.

What makes the Lowline Lab so incredible is the fact that it will be powered by natural lighting through a series of high-grade mirrors and tubes to collect and distribute. Psfk writes, "The crowdfunding admits that there is still a lot unknowns but they look forward to building the lab which can answer their technology’s most important questions. It will also help rally government support toward Lowline’s viability."
