Leading video streaming platform Roku has announced the launch of Live TV Zone, a new built-in feature dedicated to the company's Live TV users. According to the brand, the new feature will host Roku's new Live TV Channel Guide and provide access to over 200 free live television channels.

The new channels will cover a wide variety of content with genres spanning news, sports, lifestyle, kids, and more. Moreover, the new Live TV Zone will include access to other third-party offering live TV such as Hulu, YouTube TV, Sling, and Philo.

The new launch points to a broader trend within the television industry: cable-cutting. Every year more and more users are opting to ditch their traditional cable subscriptions in exchange for much cheaper live TV packages. And now, with its latest feature, Roku's making it that much more enticing to live cable-free.
