Beam Screws into Stands to Project Smartphone Screens onto Any Surface

Beam is a lightbulb-shaped projector that is practical for many reasons. Unlike similar projectors, it can screw into any existing lightbulb socket to use as a stand. This ensures that Beam is secured and adaptable in any environment -- so long as the right lamp is used as a base. Secondly, the lightbulb-shaped projector is small and portable, which complements the fact that it's meant to be used with smartphone devices.

A self-contained device, the lightbulb-shaped projector shows yet another advantage of taking existing objects and turning them into smart devices. Fast Co Design writes, "When installed, a lamp-based projector could theoretically be adjusted to point wherever you’d like, so you could overlay images and text on objects in your home, like pulling up cooking instructions right over where you’re prepping the food."
