Nothing says summer quite like a deliciously sweet lemonade recipe. Blogger Joy the Baker creatively infused the tart taste of beets into her customized lemonade drink for a nutritious and mouthwatering summertime drink.
To make this veggie lemonade, begin by squeezing several fresh lemons. Add water and sugar to the lemon juice to tone down the sour taste. Then grate roughly 1/4 cup of raw beets. Mix the lemon, sugar, water and beets into the food processor till everything is fully mixed together. The beets will add a bitter taste to the lemonade that will compliment the sugary sweet flavor of the lemon. To get rid of any excess beet chunks, you can strain the hot pink liquid through a fine mesh strainer. Pop the lemonade into the fridge and enjoy when cool.
