The 'LED Carrie' is Informed by the Danish Concept of 'Hygge'

The LED Carrie from Norm Architects is a modern spin on the classic Carrie lamp common in Danish homes. The easily portable lantern casts a soft glow through its spherical, translucent shade, encouraging the feeling of "hygge," a Danish concept that roughly translates to "coziness."

While classic Carrie lanterns are also globes with a simple, arched handle, the old-fashioned design holds a candle as its light source. The new LED Carrie replaces wax and a wick with a USB-rechargeable LED. Once charged, the LED Carrie can be taken anywhere thanks to its powdered steel handle. The handle can also be removed, allowing the LED Carrie to stand alone as a lighting element for any sort of occasion.
