Homeless Renting Platforms

'Lease Up' Helps Landlords Easily Rent Places to Homeless People

While there are plenty of home-finding apps, Lease Up is a new website and app that focuses its efforts on helping homeless people find homes. Working with both landlords and caseworkers, Lease Up helps streamline the renting process for homeless people and ensures landlords are renting their places for a good cause.

For landlords, the platform gives a single point of contact instead of having to keep in touch with multiple homeless organizations. All the units listed on the platform are inspected by nonprofit staff, who also facilitate the holding fee of $1,100 so the unit can stay vacant until a homeless client can complete the paperwork.

Lease Up hopes that its platform will help simplify the process for both renters and landlords, and will hopefully entice more landlords to participate and list more units.
