Mondi introduced a laser-marked packaging concept combining a corrugated outer box with recyclable flexible packaging for e-commerce and bag-in-box applications. The concept applies artwork directly to flexible packaging during converting, eliminating conventional decorative printing and associated printing plates while enabling greater design flexibility and personalization.
The approach can be adapted across formats including Mondi’s re/cycle StripPouch and re/cycle FlexiBag, with options to incorporate bio-based feedstocks or post-consumer recycled content depending on application requirements. Mondi says laser marking can also shorten lead times and help brands respond faster to changing consumer preferences without redesigning traditional print workflows.
For brands and retailers, the concept offers a more agile packaging format while supporting simplified material structures and lower-impact production. Mondi is exploring broader commercial applications across pet food, home care and personal care packaging.
